This rare, early piece of hand crafted Ed Levin jewelry was made in his original studio between 1950-1964 and you will likely never see another piece of his like this and is quite possibly one of a kind as it was produced before the opening of the workshop in Bennington Village.

This brooch is made in his signature modernist style, with a boldly shaped Montana moss agate stone, rough textured and heavily patinaed silver background, and primitive prongs setting the cabochon.

Condition: Overall very good condition, there is a lightly visible dark spot on in the textured area of the setting, can be seen best in the 2nd photo. I'm unsure of the origin or reason for this.  Some light wear to the silver on the back of the pin as well as some natural patina.

***All jewelry is lightly cleaned and earrings are disinfected. Personal preferences vary greatly for the amount of patina on vintage jewelry, therefore I only lightly polish with a sunshine cloth as needed.

Size: 1 5/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall

Marks: LEVIN in all caps with STERLING underneath
