Modernist style sterling silver ring with a huge faceted smoky quartz gemstone, made by Wally Morgan Designs. The UK hallmarks date this ring to 1971. It's also stamped ‘W.M.(D)‘ for Wally Morgan (Designs) Ltd, and ‘BOOTY‘ which was the name of the retail shop at 9-9a New Bond Street, London in the early 1970’s.
Condition: There is some light surface wear on both the silver and the gemstone. The stone looks as though it is set unevenly, but that may be part of the design as the setting is also slightly asymmetric in profile shape. All jewelry is cleaned and disinfected. Personal preferences vary greatly for the amount of patina on vintage jewelry, therefore I only lightly polish with a sunshine cloth as needed.
Size: Band size is 6.75 and the stone sits 1/2" high.
Hallmark: WM(D) BOOTY & some British sterling hallmarks
Era: Early 1970's
